The NEW ISLAMIC CENTRE OF OSHAWA is expected to cost approximately $1,300,000 to $1,500,000. All efforts are being made to design a masjid that will not only be cost efficient, but also serve the needs of the community. The masjid will be a multi-functional building that will be FULLY handicap accessible. Various features have been built into the design to ensure that maintenance costs will be kept to a MINIMUM. The main floor includes a fully developed area for the brothers and a separate, fully developed area for the sisters. The main PRAYER HALL will accommodate approximately 270 brothers and 100 sisters. Once the mezzanine / balcony is constructed, another 100 attendees will be accommodated.
This will all be part of PHASE 1. PHASE 2 will consist of the minaret and the dome, along with some additional finishing features to the masjid. The building will be approximately 6,600 square feet in total.
